About Reading Partners

“Hear from Sacramento Principal, Manual Huezo, on why Reading Partners matters.”

About Reading Partners
Reading Partners harnesses the power of community volunteers to provide one-on-one reading instruction to elementary school students reading below grade level. Our volunteer reading partners provide individualized tutoring for 45 minutes twice a week, following a structured, research-based curriculum.

The results for students enrolled in our program are dramatic: the average student more than doubles his/her rate of learning reading skills.

Reading Partners is a national education nonprofit organization that works in Title I elementary schools to support students from low-income communities who are reading six months to two-and-a-half years below grade level.
